It takes some effort to make The Righteous Brothers cool. That’s how you know that Ghost The Musical must have one hell of a story. And with love, lust, death and loss all key themes, it certainly does. Make sure to bring the tissues with you though as there is usually not a dry eye in the house.

Based on the Oscar-winning 1990s film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg, the musical tells the story of lovers Sam and Molly, who are pulled apart when Sam is tragically killed during a robbery. Unable to leave Molly behind Sam attempts to contact her through the medium Oda Mae Brown.

Staying as faithful as possible to the original film script, the musical recreates a number of iconic moments, from the heartbreaking to the raunchy. Perhaps most notably of which is the much-spoofed pottery scene that is performed to The Righteous Brothers’ ‘Unchained Melody’. You know the one we mean!

As part of Tony Award-winning director Matthew Warchus and casting and musical directors David Grindrod and James Mckeon’s new vision however, the score also includes a number of new songs, showcasing everything from rap to ragtime.

Spectacular special effects, as well as an impressive backdrop incorporating screens and dramatic imagery, have also been used to transform the classic story for a new audience - something which has no doubt helped take the musical from its Manchester’s Opera House origins to the West End and also Broadway in just two short years.

Ghost Reviews

Great show

This was everything I hoped it would be. A fantastic show and well worth the trip to the theatre.

Truely magical experience........

I have never felt so compelled to write a review after seeing a new show as I did last night, having experienced the phenomon that I am sure will be 'Ghost the musical'!

If you loved the movie you will simply adore the musical - you will be impressed by the recreation of it live on stage and it is so creatively reinvented you really don't miss a few of the minor moments that made the movie so magical......the music is brilliant, the cast incredible and the sets and special effects were just breathtaking. Richard Fleishman is a star!

See it with a lover, see it with your girlsfriends - but whatever you do go and see it! You will not be disappointed
