About Aladdin

Disney Theatricals have announced that their Broadway musical Aladdin will transfer to London's West End, opening at the Prince Edward Theatre on 9 June 2016, following previews from 27 May 2016.

Tickets for the production will go on general sale from 23 November 2015, and the production will be booking to 1 October 2016.

The long rumoured production transfers to London following a successful run on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre where it officially opened on 20 March 2014 following previews from 26 February 2014.

Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will make his London stage debut in the role of 'Genie', with full casting announced in due course. Nicholas is currently the standby Genie in the New York production.

Featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice & Chad Beguelin, and a book by Chad Beguelin, the musical is based on the hit 1992 animated Disney film of the same name. The stage production keeps many of the songs from the film including "Friend Like Me", "Prince Ali" and the Oscar and Grammy award-winning "A Whole New World", as well as featuring new songs written specifically for the stage.
