About Loves Labours Lost

Direct from acclaimed runs in Stratford-Upon-Avon and Chichester, the RSC’s Love’s Labour’s Lost transfers to the West End in an uplifting pairing with Much Ado About Nothing (Love’s Labour’s Won).

This beloved comic romance about young love is brought to London by acclaimed theatre company the Royal Shakespeare Company. Shakespeare’s classic story is moved to the summer of 1914 where, determined to pursue a life of academic investigation, the King and his friends vow to stay clear of women for three years. However, the men’s noble resolve is immediately tested when the Princess of France and her ladies-in-waiting turn up.

Love’s Labour’s Lost is a joyful comedy that revels in watching an unachievable vow fall by the wayside, cheekily proposing that the study of the opposite sex is the greatest of all pursuits! It is not all high spirits, however. As this masterfully crafted production ends, our lovers face life apart, not yet aware that the Great War is about to change things forever.

A gleeful and emotionally charged comedy, the RSC’s Love’s Labour’s Lost will play in a blissful double bill alongside Much Ado About Nothing (Love’s Labour’s Lost). Playing for a strictly limited fourteen-week run at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, don’t miss your chance to see this perfect match, book your tickets today.
