Cameron Mackintosh’s hotly anticipated production of Oliver! will be giving a special preview performance in support of the Aspinall Foundation on Saturday 20 December.
A highly regarded wildlife charity, the Aspinall Foundation was created and developed in 1984 by John Aspinall, owner and founder of Howletts Wild Animal Park and Port Lympne Zoo in Kent. The running of these two institutions relies on the Aspinall Foundation, and money raised has helped to build their outstanding records in the breeding, care and in many cases, the release of some very rare and endangered species.
The Aspinall Foundation also runs and funds a number of important worldwide schemes, most notably a project in the Congo that began by rescuing a huge number of gorillas from bush meat poachers in the 1980’s and now takes in orphaned gorillas and prepares them for release into the Plateau Bateke National Park.
The extra special performance of Oliver! will take place at 7:30 on Saturday 20 December 2009 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The show will be followed by an exclusive drinks reception attended by members of the cast. Ticket prices for the performance also include a drink at the reception and a charitable donation to the Aspinall Foundation.
The hotly anticipated musical officially opens on the 14th January and Oliver tickets are already available and selling fast!
