Sister Act ‘Nun Run’ 2010

Feel like engaging in some Christian charity? Following the success of last year’s event, the stars of Sister Act have announced another ‘Nun Run’ for 2010, in aid of the children’s charity Barnardos.

The sight of thousands of nuns pounding the streets of the capital certainly turned a few heads in 2009! Over £30,000 was raised and donated to Bernardos, a fantastic sum for a ‘Fun Run’ event.

Open to All!

Around a thousand competitors are expected to take part on Sunday 2nd May 2010. Entry is open to all members of the public for a fee of just £20, including your own nun costume to keep!

The Nun Run begins on Potters Fields on the South Bank next to City Hall. It takes a short loop over Tower Bridge, passes landmarks including The Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral, before returning over the river via Millennium Bridge and the Tate Modern.

Praying for Success!

Sister Act has recently been nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards. Patina Miller (Deloris Van Cartier) is nominated for Best Actress in a Musical. Sheila Hancock (Mother Superior) for Best Supporting Performance. Anthony Van Laast for Best Theatre Choreographer and, most excitingly, the show itself for Best New Musical!
