About On The Town

The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre stages its biggest dance musical yet, On The Town.

New York, New York, it’s a helluva town!

With an incredible Bernstein score, Olivier Award-winner Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar, In the Heights, The Wild Party, Strictly Ballroom, The Lorax, Bugsy Malone) directs and choreographs On The Town.

With music by Leonard Bernstein, and books and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on a concept by Jerome Robbins. ON THE TOWN was made into a classic movie musical in 1949, starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.

Danny Mac (Strictly Come Dancing, Wicked), Fred Haig and Jeremy Taylor (Wicked, We Will Rock You) take the roles of the three sailors, originally played in the film version by Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Jules Munshin. The cast also includes Siena Kelly, Miriam-Teak Lee and Lizzy Connolly (The Wild Party) in the roles originally played in the film version by Vera-Ellen, Betty Garrett and Ann Miller.
