Following two sell-out runs at the Young Vic, Henrik Ibsen’s timeless masterpiece A Doll’s House transfers to the Duke of York’s Theatre this summer for 12 weeks only.
Award-winning Hattie Morahan reprises her five-star ‘performance of a lifetime’ (Sunday Telegraph) as Nora Helmer, alongside the ‘excellent’ (Daily Telegraph) Dominic Rowan, who returns as her husband Torvald.
In A Doll’s House we are introduced to the character of Nora, who is a woman with everything going for her. Not only does she have a loving family around her, she also has a wonderful home in which she dwells. But there’s more here than meets the eye. Despite her reputation as a devoted wife, she is having second thoughts as hypocrisy and scandal occurs behind the scenes, with an array of delusions permeating through the relationship. Soon she realises that these secrets coming out into the open are going to force her to make a change.
