The Arts theatre is one of the smaller theatres in the West-End, with a mere 350 seats available to theatregoers, it is highly sought-after and a cosy, intimate theatre experience which appeals to all. Presenting one-off cabarets, showcases and comedies, as well as a number of seasonal shows, the Arts theatre is extremely popular and highly respected.

Located on Great Newport Street, Westminster, the Arts theatre is just a stones-throw from the heart of London and a perfect place for a night out at the theatre. In 2009, it was given a breath of fresh air with a full refurbishment.

Originally established in 1927, the Arts theatre was born with a favour for independent theatre companies and has continued that tradition ever since – running experimental or controversial plays which might not have made it to the other larger theatres in London. But, by no means has the Arts theatre been subject to minor, unimportant plays. Some of the most notable plays have reached it stage including the Vagina Monologues and Closer to Heaven the Jonathan Harvey/Pet Shop Boys Musical.

The 350 seats available in the Arts theatre are on two levels – the stalls and dress circle. Wheelchair access is available to the Arts theatre, but access to the building is by stairs only, so please contact the theatre before arrival if you require assistance in this area.
