Originally based on a 1862 French novel of the same name, Les Miserables literally translates as ‘The Miserable Ones’. The novel originally written by Victor Hugo, was introduced to the Parisian theatres in 1980. In 2011, Les Miserables reached a pinnacle of 26 years of stage performances in the West End.
Set in 1815 shortly after the French Revolution and the rise of the French Empire, the story of Les Miserables follows many different impoverished characters and their struggle for survival; prostitutes, criminals, politically-minded students in search of revolution, lovers and street gangs - Les Miserables has it all.
Seen by over 55million people worldwide and continually enjoyed on new audiences on a regular basis, Les Miserables is one of the most well-known and popular musicals to ever take to the stage. Productions have taken part in over 41 Countries across the world and in 21 different languages. London, holds the record for the longest running production of Les Miserables when it showed at the Palace Theatre leading up to 2004. Now showing at the Queen’s Theatre, it continues to thrill audiences on an on-going basis.
Les Miserables is an extravagantly impressive performance for theatre which includes 101 cast and crew and no less than 392 costumes and 31 wigs. Les Miserables has won several Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score. With a full orchestra of around 22 players, Les Miserables has an excellent and impressive score which matches its historic and moving storyline.
At 1,400 pages the original novel needed to be amended to work on the stage so some artistic licence has to be expected. The current production of Les Miserables is still directed and produced by the original team - Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is a continued success.
Book Les Miserables tickets today and join the millions of people before you who have thoroughly enjoyed this French masterpiece.

This was the first west end show I had ever been to and I was a little apprehensive in case I didn't get it, or didn't like it!
I was quickly engrossed in the show and quickly slugged back my wine in the interval as I couldn't wait to get back in for the second half.
A very moving story and brilliantly entertaining show. Would even go see this show again.
